I finally realized today that it's over
I sat down and gave in to this earth shattering pain
It's over

You never had to earn my love or trust
You just always had it
And it wasn't enough for you

You left me
You let me go
And now it's over

The similarity and yet uniqueness of grief & loss

For someone that has gone thru my fair share of loss and grief, one thing that I believe to be true is that grief is grief and loss is loss. The loss of my cat is no less an emotion than that of your breakup. A loss of a brother is no less than that of a parent or a child. Loss is loss. Let's stop trying to put an amount on pain, it's not a competition! Understand that you can't understand the pain the other person is going through because; we all experience pain and deal with it, in our own way.
