Love and light

My darkest of days has past
My deepest of sorrow has faded
One step in front of the next
I made it to my destination

I have arrived in the period of light
I am surrounded by happiness
Love in my heart...more than I can hold
Love for myself, those that stayed around and those yet to come!

The similarity and yet uniqueness of grief & loss

For someone that has gone thru my fair share of loss and grief, one thing that I believe to be true is that grief is grief and loss is loss. The loss of my cat is no less an emotion than that of your breakup. A loss of a brother is no less than that of a parent or a child. Loss is loss. Let's stop trying to put an amount on pain, it's not a competition! Understand that you can't understand the pain the other person is going through because; we all experience pain and deal with it, in our own way.
