It is crazy, do you not think
That still by thoughts we are linked
I am trying to get over you
But my memories stand in queue

My days were filled with fun
But now you have taken away my sun
To think that one day everything was fine and
Now you’re no longer mine

It was that first kiss
That I now hope I’d missed
Then I never would have felt this pain
That I through your deception have gained

But I will get over you
Just like I did with the flu
I will pretend you don’t exist and
You will be just another on my list

The similarity and yet uniqueness of grief & loss

For someone that has gone thru my fair share of loss and grief, one thing that I believe to be true is that grief is grief and loss is loss. The loss of my cat is no less an emotion than that of your breakup. A loss of a brother is no less than that of a parent or a child. Loss is loss. Let's stop trying to put an amount on pain, it's not a competition! Understand that you can't understand the pain the other person is going through because; we all experience pain and deal with it, in our own way.
