When today feels like yesterday one year ago

You know those days when it feels as if time stood still for so long yet it feels as if you've been lost for even longer? I'm having one of those days. Those days where you kinda ask yourself "How did I get from there to here?" It's like you don't remember because it all happened in the blink of an eye...a blink that took a little more than a second...more like a year.
And in that blink, the changes are massive yet so very subtle. You can see them but you can't fully comprehend them.
But you know for sure, this all didn't happen yesterday even though it feels like it, it happened over a year ago...

The similarity and yet uniqueness of grief & loss

For someone that has gone thru my fair share of loss and grief, one thing that I believe to be true is that grief is grief and loss is loss. The loss of my cat is no less an emotion than that of your breakup. A loss of a brother is no less than that of a parent or a child. Loss is loss. Let's stop trying to put an amount on pain, it's not a competition! Understand that you can't understand the pain the other person is going through because; we all experience pain and deal with it, in our own way.
